Portuguese navigators began conquering territories in America, Asia and Africa in the 15th century. Brazil is well known among the destinations of the Portuguese diaspora, but it also extended to Cape Verde, Indonesia, Timor, India, China, Angola and the Congo: whether secular or sacred, the music born of these encounters reveals a multitude of colors, unheard-of rhythms and melodies with mingled nuances. L'Achéron takes us on a trip around the globe to discover some of the nuggets of the Portuguese diaspora: religious tunes, vilancicos, songs from Goa, Macao, Bahia and elsewhere.
Ticket sales open 30 minutes to 1 hour before the event. Please contact the festival in advance of events for PRM (07 61 24 70 41).
