Discover Yport

Between land and sea

Nested in a green valley, discover an authentic village where fishermen’s houses and middle-class villas stand side by side, in a wooded and hilly setting, turned towards the sea and imbued with an omnipresent maritime past.

Open your eyes, look up, be attentive to everything around you and savor the charm of a picturesque village.

A pebble beach

Boats with bright colors, nets and traps… Yport, like its neighbor Etretat, is one of the main landing ports of the Alabaster Coast.

It is also a spot appreciated by the amateurs of fishing on foot; eels and periwinkles can be easily observed at low tide.

Discover the Church of St. Martin, its brightness, its sturdy pillars and its distinctive ceiling, shaped like the hull of an upside-down ship.

You’ll also appreciate a magnificent pulpit and the Stations of the Cross made by Jef Friboulet.

In the heart of a valley

To savor the authenticity of Yport, between land and sea, leave the main street and take the narrow streets, lined with houses made of bricks and flint and flowered courtyards.

While respecting the tranquility of the inhabitants, you will discover here an old well, there an artist’s studio… let yourself be surprised!

Hiking trails

The GR®21, elected favorite of the French in 2020, promises beautiful panoramas and quite a bit of elevation gain.

Going south, you’ll reach the pretty beach of Vaucottes (30 minutes) and the famous cliffs of Etretat (4 hours).

Towards the north, the trail will lead you to the valley of Grainval (45 minutes) and then to the city of the terre-neuvas: Fécamp (1 hour and 30 minutes).

EVENT

The Sea & Painting Festival

Every August 15, Yport celebrates its sailors and honors the many artists who have set up their easels on the coast.

Mass, procession, blessing of the boats and open-air painting…the village is for the occasion decorated, paved with multicolored flags, ex-voto and fishing nets.

A popular and emotionally rich day not to be missed!
