Discover Valmont

The little Switzerland of Cauchoise

A peaceful country village, Valmont can be discovered on foot or by bicycle and offers a rich heritage, both historical and natural.

A heritage

history

Take time to wander through the village’s narrow streets; appreciate the brick and flint facades, the wooden houses, visit the church and admire the castle that dominates the town.

Many signs punctuate your route and reveal the history of this peaceful place.

This park and these gigantic trees have taken on an aspect that is almost mournful; but in truth, if one could, in painting, render such effects, it would be the most sublime thing I have seen in landscape.

Lengthen the river to reach its source and discover le Vivier, a former fish reserve for the people of the castle.

Lined with century-old trees, it was a popular place for Guy de Maupassant and Eugène Delacroix to take a walk.

The Linen Cycle Route

The Linen Bike Route plunges you into the heart of Cauchoise Normandy, dotted with flax fields, ponds and fish farms.

From Fécamp, join Valmont (12 kilometers), along the river of the same name, on a former railroad line that has become a greenway.

Need to rent a bike? Coffee Bike has everything you need! From mountain bikes to tandem bikes to electric assist bikes, you won’t need your car.

Good addresses

Want a filet of St. Pierre in a hazelnut crust, a scallop just snacked on, or perhaps a poultry breast with Auge Valley sauce?

The restaurant owners of Valmont offer a traditional, creative and generous cuisine, based on local seasonal and quality products.

Did you know that?

A prestigious past

Valmont was owned by illustrious families! The d’Estouteville, d’Orléans, de Matignon or even Grimaldi de Monaco were its successive lords.

On September 13, 2019, the village actually received a visit from Prince Albert of Monaco, who came to pay homage to his ancestors.

It is no coincidence that the village’s kindergarten is named after Grace of Monaco!
