Description
Children’s workshops (ages 7 to 12)
Theme: Imaginary Menus
Children will be invited to create a fun and creative imaginary menu, combining drawing, collage and writing. Through this artistic exploration, they will be able to play with shapes, colours and associations of ideas to produce original and surprising compositions.
The workshop will draw on references to Arcimboldo, Surrealism and the work of photographer Martin Parr to stimulate the imagination and introduce participants to different approaches to representation.
Techniques covered: collage, graphite pencil, coloured pencils, felt-tip pens, pastels.
Adult workshops
Theme: Hybrid still life
This workshop offers a creative exploration of contemporary still life. To begin with, participants will produce observational sketches based on plant elements gathered from the garden. These drawings will then serve as a starting point for a process of transformation, assemblage and combination with images taken from photographs or magazines.
Through this experimental approach combining observation and imagination, each participant will be able to develop a personal, hybrid and unique composition, straddling the line between reality and invention.
The work will be enriched by references to modern and contemporary artists who have used collage as a means of visual expression.
Techniques covered: collage, graphite pencil, charcoal, pastels, coloured pencils.
